I mean sure, annoying yung mga nagco-comment ng ganyan… but these are fossils with antiquated mindsets. Hindi na kasi dapat pinapatulan mga ganyan. Their insights are as valuable as the lowest troll.

The sad thing is, gagamitin na naman fuel yan ng mga antinatalist/child-free gen Zs with their just as idiotic and pompously tone-deaf takes.

Madami na naman mga feelingera/feelingero na life coach dyan na maiinis, hahaha.

It used to be longer and included details about PayPal flagging the Hurricane Katrina donations, references in pop culture media pertaining to him, and about the forums requiring a $10 signup fee.

Now it’s short enough that it makes you wonder if a Wiki page is even necessary.

iirc Francisco Motors yung nagsabi na gagawa raw sila ng EV na jeeps but sell it at what it’s actually worth instead of the 3m price that the co-ops are foisting.

Edit: Yup, sila nga.

Local manufacturer offers e-jeepney for less than P1-M

Mami-miss ko yung taho sa buffet nila. Best taho na hindi galing kay manong.

But yes, their rooms are showing its age so not surprised why they’re closing. And nagugulpi na sila ng better hotels (Conrad) and AirBNBs.

Also just discovered an old interview by Ted Koppel with Ferdinand Marcos from 1982 sandwiched in between some movie recordings. This is the first time I heard Makoy Sr. talk that isn’t on some documentary and here’s a few take aways:

  1. Marcos pronounces years as “nineteen-hundred and seventy-two” instead of “nineteen-seventy two”.
  2. Kasing-asim niya sina Noynoy at Gloria kung mag-react sa mga criticism/allegations towards his administration. He didn’t like the intro piece that aired before his interview at all, lol.
  3. Ted Koppel is a great interviewer. How I wish ganun ako kagaling mag-communicate with others. He’s so inoffensive and articulate.
  4. Marcos talks really really well. Most Presidentiable out of anyone I’ve seen since I was born. At the same time, sa sobrang galing niya magsalita he can easily sway the narrative in his favor when rebutting accusations. Like dumami raw middle class nung panahon niya in response to the inequality between the poor and the rich - bad (bordering on nonsensical) argument but he sells it well.
  5. Apparently he was trying to pivot away from strongly supporting the U.S. around this point and doesn’t appreciate the one-sided deals they want.

19 and 16 is legal per law because of the Romeo and Juliet clause. Gusto pa nga nila gawin 13 e, lol.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with that. They’re still technically teenagers with a tinny gap. If it’s 20-16, or 21-16, diyan ka magpuputak sa social media. But until that law is repealed, epal ka lang.

On Press Freedom, News Coverage, and Its Effects on Readers

I recently saw a discussion where someone mentioned how the Philippines’s level of press freedom lets our media freely report on whatever they want. As a side effect, a lot of the negative news can easily make their way abroad and give foreigners lasting impressions on the country. There is also the appearance that PH is...

Using the internet in Australia was quite the eye-opener. I thought I was back in 2005 with how slow it was (I believe it was Telstra that my tita was using at their house) and then you get a lot of dead spots with mobile.

Kind of makes you wonder if the ZTE deal wasn’t rife with corruption.

I checked out r/philippinesbad and I actually liked it. While it was designed to whine about r/PH, they at least take the time to disprove why the thread is wrong unlike sa r/2ph4u na iyak at conspiracy theories lang about the moderating. If nagre-reddit pa ako, I probably would have applied there as a dual mod. lol.

And about Australia, hindi ako nakatira dun but most of my relatives are and nakapunta na ako dun. Kahit bayaran mo pa ako 1 million to live there, I won’t. And to think proud na proud tayo na Telstra was supposedly going here, lol. May racism to the point na yung car ng pinsan ko vinandalize with slurs while parked outside on a party. Ang aga magsara ng mga shops. Food is expensive. Insulin is expensive. Lahat expensive, haha. Yes, malaki sweldo but that’s to cover the high cost of living. Pag nagsisimula ka pa lang dun, kawawa ka.

But may mga okay din naman about the country. I’m just saying that it’s not all hunky dory as most people make it out to be. I’m not going to a different country just to start over and slowly make my way to the top. If that’s you, then good for you and I wish you all the luck. But I’m fine here being able to enjoy life even if it’s not exactly something you could brag about.

2016 ata kami nagpakabit ng fiber from Converge for 1500 na 150mbps ata. That’s more than enough for most use cases and relatively cheap. Fast forward a couple of years later and pati yung ibang telco may fiber na mura na rin at mas mabilis. Kaya di ko gets why they’re hyping Starlink unless nasa Benguet ka, lol. Or these complaints about our internet speed. Yes, if ikaw si Juan Cruz sa Purok 2 it’s out of your budget - but so is 90% of everything. But generally speaking, our internet isn’t the shitshow as it was from 2005.
