Home theatre needs some new speakers and acoustic treatment - lots of harsh surfaces and the speakers are old, not suitable and basic in the first place. Might buy a calibration mic, take some measurements with REW, buy new speakers then do some more measurements and figure out how to flatten out the frequencies and get close to the Harman +6db low frequency target curve

@static curtain was my plan but apparently not the best idea - doesn’t do anything for sub-120hz-ish frequencies. So need to do more research. Maybe a nice acoustic frame along the back will do (can get expensive so might need to DIY)

subwoofers are too expensive - I can buy almost perfect speakers for like $500ea but if you want big fat bass boxes you’re looking at $1700 and that’s considered cheap. Kinda wish I had the skills to DIY a pair of big subbies

@vertikar not sure exactly but I’d guess that the need for a way more powerful amp (100-150W vs 800W-1000W for a subwoofer), plus the much bigger driver (12”-15”) and beefier cabinet all plays a role
