I suggest using the Block User button when you see something that sparks this type of reaction. I make liberal use of it myself, and I have a much better time on Lemmy as a result.
Eh, that’s different. Police officers choose the profession. Trans folks aren’t choosing the trans life, they’re discovering who they really are (maybe I should have just quipped “…the trans life chose them”, ha).
There’s nothing wrong with trying to avoid assholes, but when you start painting with a broad brush like that, well, it does smack of bigotry. Same energy as racists who memorize arrest statistics and then say things like “It’s not racist if it’s true!”
Also, to be clear: I don’t mean to accuse you of anything. I just see some uncomfortable parallels.
Personally, I don’t have a lot of experience in this area. I’ve really only been acquainted with two trans people, and I don’t/didn’t know them very well (I say didn’t because I haven’t seen the one person since before covid). Both were friends-of-friends type acquaintances that I’d see at game nights and the like.
They do tools for programmers. Big projects! But not stuff sold at retail. The plugin stuff is saying it plays well with the other kids on the playground.
Edit to say because I kinda feel bad now: I have nothing against English teachers! Please don’t send your mafia of learned lit nerds after me! …Or do, lit nerds are hot.
I’m never sure whether that’s a serious concern or just “I didn’t agree with the jury’s ruling. Am I out of touch with the evidence? No, it’s the jury that’s wrong!”

I’m a software dev whose first job out of college was at a tiny company, 10-15 people.
Pros: I learned a lot. Each project had different technologies involved. I def didn’t get bored! Basically no red tape. I reported to the IT director, and he reported to the owner. Nothing could really get lost in bureaucracy there.
Cons: Payscale was weak, but eh, it was my first job out of college. No room for advancement. What even is a promotion when the whole company is only a dozen people? Limited mentoring. While I had a lot of guidance from my boss there, especially early on, now years later I’m looking back, wishing I’d gotten a more varied perspective. You can only learn so much from one person’s perspective.

It must confuse English learners to hear phrases like, "I'm home", instead of "I am at home." We don't say I'm school, or I'm post office.
