0 job listings for watchmakers and goldsmiths in Norway.

Looking at trade jobs for people who like to fiddle with small things. I can cut and solder tiny copper wires for hours without getting bored. Why not watchmaking or fine metal work?

People who have those jobs are often business owners, but it should be possible to get an apprenticeship somewhere. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be an education for it.

The school would probably help you to get in touch with a guildsman who can take you in. I expect it happens through connections and conversations, not job listing sites.

@thor i asked different jewelers here in norway about sizing down a ring (very simple plain band) and it was an outrageous amount compared to most other countries. they also would have had to send it to oslo to get it done whereas most jewelers im used to have someone in the back that does it quickly on the same day, at least for a non intricate design like this. bummer

i did find a website advertising a course here in norway for making fine metal jewelry but i got the impression it was more for enthusiastic hobbyists rather than ppl looking for a trade

I moved here to make it harder for corpos to shaft me, with Threads not even needing to scrape anything anymore and getting served timelines on a silver platter by federating servers it makes literally zero sense to keep a public presence of any kind.
