This thread by @ojou reminded me (tangentially, to the topic) that being extremely fannish and/or deep engagement with a media is actually not that common. I've talked to normies (non-Internet citizens), and it seems more common to watch something, enjoy it for the moment, and then move on. It's something for momentary entertainment, and not something to be discussed a lot

... Which makes no sense to me but different people different strokes I guess

One thing (among the other things) I'll miss, not being on Twitter anymore is reading Denise's threads on stuff regarding social media... because Twitter doesn't open up threads anymore when you don't have an account, and I appreciate her weighing in on stuff (even though I may not fully agree 100% of the time)

Remember Muffy Magic Mittens? The kitten I was babysitting a tiny bit as her owner said they were trying to fix an issue involving a flooded apartment?

Well... We took her back around a week ago. But on the way to the farmers market, guess who we spotted running up to us because she wanted to see her buddies again?

Considering she's being a bit neglected where she was (and we have a big issue with feral cats around here as it is) she miiiight have ended up back at out place as a permanent home this time. She's far too wonderful to be stuck alone outside hoping for friends to come along.

I have never been a person who watches a lot of tv or movies, but without any intention it has now been over 6 months since I've seen ANY tv/movies. and I'm starting to wonder how easy it would be to go a whole year. you know. for the bit.

(probably I won't actually do this, my household usually watches something together on Halloween, and sometimes for Christmas or New year's as well. but otherwise it would be SO easy tbh)

@soph_sol I only watch TV two ways: 1) marathon, 2) with other people

(2) only works if we're able to keep it up. There's a reason why I have a lot more watched anime than live action drama... 20 mins episodes seem a lot more manageable than 40 mins-60 mins an ep xD

I hardly slept that week I was watching nirvana in fire (I still haven't touched nif2!)

In this novel, you will have RIVALRY, constantly trying to ONE UP EACH OTHER, murder mysteries and other investigations, political intrigue, extremely sick very smart protagonist, narcissistic but also very smart ML, among others. It's funny and a real fun to read! Also, stories set in the Sui dynasty is super rare!

Edited to add: I forgot to mention, this is in the same universe as Thousand Autumns but you don't need to have read Thousand Autumns to read this. The characters in Thousand Autumns have a small cameo, that's about it

I've started making matcha latte using the fancy matcha I bought from Niko Neko Matcha, Malaysia and it's at least helping me curb the desire to go out, sit in a cafe and chill... I go out with my own matcha latte, sit on a bench outside and photosynthesize
