I’ve been considering purchasing a steam deck. My pc is in my office, which limits interaction with the rest of the family if I want to play anything. I’ve tried playing mobile games, but just can’t get use to the controls. Think it’s worth getting one?
I love mine. I used it as a remote PC for 2 years on my skoolie bus conversion. If your work is compatible with linux and don't need a lot of intense specs (or can cloud all the heavy labor), then you'll be just fine.
Gotta admit, I'm having a ton of fun on Lemmy. Never have I had this much positive engagement and it's just been a great time all around. I'm encouraging all my artist friends to make accounts. Thanks for the support! If you got a spare coffee in the budget, it's appreciated!
If a true reddit migration does happen (which I honestly doubt for a number of reasons, technical issues aside) and selfhosting is too expensive, I'm confident the community here can funnel a means to support the server without introducing ads to the feed or site directly.
I can picture a mall for Lemmy merch. Kurzgesagt discusses their financing in this video and paralleling that business model with trendy bullshit sounds like a winner to me. Lemmy.world Calendar anyone?
It's been fixed so maybe an older instance of my post body is on your end? Good to know that sometimes edits revert for some people so I'll be sure to triple check my URLs before posting.
Thanks for letting me know I actually had already made the correction but I guess it hadn't updated on everyone's instances yet. I'll be sure to triple check my links before posting.
Agreed, I know there's arguments about bots and such in this thread but this is all good news. If we have these problems, it means we're doing something right.
And that it's properly formatted lol. But serious, the biggest spam I see here are users complaining about bots without evidence that they're a real problem. I believe a lot of them are simply scrapping reddit and posting that content here or are otherwise folks who don't want to see redditors migrating. My take is: Welcome aboard everyone! Make an account and say hey wherever you like to become an active user.
And it's deleted ha. These sorta "bots" are just users trying to be smart and relevant by just copy/pasting what results they get from ChatGPT. Gj calling that out.
Most never stopped using reddit, but rather used reddit in unsavory ways. Goating all the new rules from blasphemy to nsfw to indefinitely private has had a lot of effect. I mean InterestingAsFuck still has no mods after the admins axed the whole sub. They're not ready for modless chaos. We won't see them double back until possible August, then it'll be too late and the folks will not want to come back. That's my prediction.
Considering a steam deck
