I have had the most amazing time with my hen over a week ago, loads of activities and set up and then marrying my best friend on Saturday surrounded by the people I love.

Taking a week of relaxing and getting used to being Mrs Brentnall then I'll be back at work next week.

I'm very blessed.

@danclarke It used to be a fun place to cyber stalk tech people, hear about new stuff in the industry and chat.

Now I find the UI unusable, the feeds toxic and the morals of leadership questionable... Didn't bring me joy anymore.

It is sad though. Feels like it's hit online tech communities hard. There's no common home for them anymore 😔

@danclarke same, and the third thing is discoverability. I get it's all part of the design, and why I find mastodon "friendlier" but I find it harder to be exposed to posts and people outside my little bubble.

The DM experience bugs me most though. Makes me too nervous I'll publicly post something I really don't want to be public.

Am I missing something? I've heard two people recently sound apologetic for writing code in Go.

  • I don't think you should feel apologetic for your language choice especially on a personal project. All programming languages are a means to making a thing, just different semantics to do so. Don't @ me.

  • I like Go. I haven't used it in a while, but I found it a joy to write in when I did.

I guess I'm not one of the cool kids 🤣
