Boss: "Can we compile our code with Microsoft compiler?"

Me: "Well, we can't checkout the code on Windows, due name collisions (upcase and lowercase files, which works on Linux FS but not default Windows)."

Me: Fixes name collisions in a new branch.

Me: "No, we can't compile, code still contains some POSIX things."

Boss: "Ok."

Colleague: "Can I delete this stale branch?"

Me, thinking: "It didn't work, so I guess so"

Me: Deletes branch.

Boss, months later: "Wait, did I tell you about this other project that uses the same base as ours, but compiles on Windows?"

Me: Checks code, looks like it may fix our issue.

Me: Realizes I'll have to redo the name fixing thing.

Me: FFFFUUUUUUUU

Me, thinking randomly: "What happens if I take this old repository and try to check out the removed branch?"

Git: Brings the branch back.

Me: "Wait, did it just created a new branch or it brought back the branch from the dead?"

Me: Checks. It's the old branch.

Note: Old repository never listed the branch in git branch, so I assumed it didn't have any idea what I was talking about...

I have a laptop with Windows (10) just to play games.

Today MS dropped a full screen message saying Windows 10 is not going to be updated, people need to switch to Windows 11 and my computer is not compatible with Windows 11.

Basically, I need to buy new hardware to keep using Windows (just to play games).

If that isn't a huge "buy a Steamdeck" ad, I don't know what it is.

@mirekdlugosz Tried this this morning. I have UEFI disabled on my BIOS, enabling it shows nothing about TPM (or related thing) but also makes Windows not boot anymore :D

Eu até consigo entender o por que, mas eu acho de uma cafonice extrema os vídeos de "vamos nos levantar" tocando alguma música gaudéria.

É puro sentimentalismo ligado ao bairrismo gaúcho (que, como eu disse, eu entendo o por que de usarem isso).

I play a small game with Last.fm: There is one song that I need to keep on the top listened songs in the last 30 days.

But Tidal is fucking this up by bringing another song over and over again. And, when I realize, the must-be top song is not the top song anymore.

I'm just starting to realize that the same issue I had with Deezer -- bad recommendation and shuffling -- also affects Tidal.
