I really gotta figure out some way to get my brain to disconnect and make the switch from "at the computer desk for work" to "at the computer desk for fun." I get done with work and all I want to do is be Away from it, while still being at my computer to play video games.

So, uhhhhh...y'all ever listen to an actual play show and get so invested in one of the NPCs that you pitch the show a scripted audio drama about her backstory with her wife...and they say yes?

jazz hands Auditions are now open for No Normal Life, a spinoff of the Monster Of The Week actual play The Critshow! This is the project I've been working on/vagueposting about for MONTHS now, and I'm super excited to be getting to the next stage.

Might get myself a new skillet/frying pan for my upcoming birthday and I'm tired of nonstick pans that all too quickly become non-nonstick. Anyone have any recs for, I guess, probably carbon steel pans? I'm not afraid of dealing with (re-/)seasoning, I just want something lighter than cast iron that will really last.

UX idea for the Fediverse. This would not be trivial or easy but could an app (including the web interface) indicate that a given post (especially in a thread of posts) has more responses than are visible in the current view (a number would be nice but even just a “has responses” indicator would help when viewing a post to click in to see the full thread (as much as possible from your client/instance)

This wouldn’t solve the challenge of replies only the OP sees. But might help slow reply guys?

Does anyone know of a place other than Amazon to order large quantities of candy that would arrive in time to hand out for Halloween? (by large I mean "enough to hand out to 800+ trick or treaters - we expect over 1000+ but also plan on having a non-candy alternative (so suggestions for that which are more interesting than Oriental Trading Company are also welcome)

Costco big bags are an option but would prefer something more interesting (and nut-free)

Absolutely MIND-BOGGLING that Patreon would launch a "community chats" feature even in closed beta where the ONLY moderation ability is for the Patreon owner and no others to review and action individual reports filed by their own paying customers.

Our parent company sent out a "return to office update" email and decided the best possible selling point would be to include a video message from the CEO...WHICH HE RECORDED AT HOME. I'm not even affected because there's no office local to me, but still. The absolutely egregious and transparent DISRESPECT of it all.
