I did the same on 4 separate accounts I've been running the oldest was 10 years. I don't know why I didn't do that sooner. I emptied but left one account just in case I need to write something over there. It would take something pretty monumental for me to log in over there.

It's a hell of a lot nicer than Reddit was when Digg sold out.

If we can just keep active subject matter experts over here and not lose too many privately hosted nodes, we should be able to keep the better part of the experience.

I actually moved a ceiling air vent for somebody and a can light. I walked into their office and they had a paper plate taped over the light and a bunch of cardboard trying to redirect the vent.

I wish we could just stop making a big deal out of the federation, other than choosing an initial home and having perceived duplicate groups it has more or less no impact to the front end users.

It's a backend thing and we need to bury it more in the UI so people don't feel it.

You "can" run torrent without port forward, you get a lot less friction running with one, even on public.

privateinternetaccess has a handfull of nodes that allow port forward, they also have one in switzerland that allows socks proxy.

I liked the first one It was different it was wacky It was all Futurama.

But after the initial introduction he doesn't bring a lot to the table. The thing is, it's just a Christmas episode. They put Santa Claus in the universe they're going to tap him every Christmas.

They were just cloning movie tropes. She's there because it's absurd when movies do that same exact scenario for no reason. The whole episode was just a mash up of every street racer movie that's ever been put out.

Hermes is very hit or miss for me. Anytime he's the main character or semi main character one of the episodes I love him dearly. But in about half of his cameo skits he's just meh. Also the whole Barbados Slim LeBarbara thing seems kind of tired.

I suspect we're all going to love it to death while watching it. Then we're all going to get together and talk about the little things we didn't like and why it wasn't as good as the original set, get each other all worked up about the inadequacies, lament and watch the old seasons and eventually come to grips that all we have is all we have, we'll watch the new episodes a few more times and fall in love with them too.

I wouldn't mind an anthology.

Large ISOs that can be downloaded again, NAS -> JBOD and or NAS -> offline disks.

Stuff that's critical leaves the house, stuff that would just cost me a hell of a lot of personal time to rebuild just gets a copy or two.

My wife has absolutely no interest, The kids will watch it with me on occasion, which is hilarious because they start to see where most of my weird sayings and jokes come from.

My best example of this, The other week my young teenager sent me a link to a company doing lab groom meat that claimed to be making a woolly mammoth meatball. I immediately put on fun on a bun and they were riveted for 26 minutes.
