monkey,

Jesus Christ, that sounds like the John Wick of dogs

monkey,

The experience is smooth, the software is well optimized for the hardware, but if you’re looking for the top specs and are a big mobile gamer, I don’t think you’d be happy.

For me, I don’t game at all on my phone, so it’s perfect for me. I love the user experience, the helpful AI features, and the photos Pixel’s take. I picked up the 8 Pro and it feels a lot more refined and uncompromising in almost all the ways.

monkey,

I picked up the 8pro. The fingerprint reader is fine, maybe marginally improved over the 7pro. It’s nowhere near the ultrasonic fingerprint readers. But, it now has Class 3 secure face unlock, which is good enough for banking and other apps, and combined with the fingerprint reader, it’s pretty quick to unlock.

monkey,

Living the life! Oh to be covered in cats

monkey,

I’m American and I think food in the UK is awesome. I don’t like everything, but what I do like, I really like! Plus y’all have cute and silly names for everything, it’s great. I’m sure most Americans would feel the same way if they ever get the chance :)

monkey,

Will Jordan drop out so that the next, somehow even less popular, Republican can try?

monkey,

If the moderate Republicans thought the death threats from voting against Jordan was bad…

monkey,

Will Scalise Jordan Emmer Johnson drop out so that the next, somehow even less popular, Republican can try?

monkey,

I don’t have any advice but I need to point out how hilarious that title is out of context

monkey,

Pyenv! Let the OS have its own version and work on whatever version you want, whenever.

monkey,

Those Night Troopers look so cool. If I’m not mistaken, there are heavy Japanese influences, their armor wrapped in red cloth and mended with gold, a practice called kintsugi the Japanese use with broken pottery.

monkey,

IIRC you also hear about Gortash from Councilor Florrick in the Last Light Inn. She says she’s going to ask him for help against Ketheric.

I also remember reading about Gortash and Orin while rummaging through Ketheric’s things in Moonrise. They definitely were not featured prominently but they were hinted at if you go looking!

monkey,

Yeah, I got that dialogue as well! I guess I was hoping to see what happens between him and Mystra after he finds it.

monkey,

Thanks, this was helpful. Guess I have to play it again with each of the origin characters if I want to see how they fare afterwards!

monkey,

Completely agree. Already started my new save!

monkey,

Fuck me, I really enjoyed this episode too.

Day finally getting his comeuppance, his moral failure finally causing a breaking point, and then getting spaced and losing his whole fleet in one fell swoop. What is Empire without spacers or their fleet?

Bel and Hober sharing that wine that’s been hyped up the whole season, only for it to taste like Beki’s asshole. Loved the ship scenes, especially with Hober and Brother Constant. Funny and sweet while being entirely tragic.

Oh God, that beautiful, tragic moment between Dusk and Demerzel. Laura Birn and Terrence Mann killed it. Watching her feel such emotion at having to do something she couldn’t bear doing, and Dusk forgiving her. I think he was genuine there even if he did mark her as a betrayer to Dawn, he knew she didn’t have a choice.

Everyone on Terminus survived in a big space vault?? Can’t wait to hear the explanation behind that one. Poor glawen :(

I’m glad Sareth and Dawn escaped and I can’t wait to see what they do, hopefully we still get a glimpse of their lives in exile even with the time jump.

Ignis felt somewhat weak in comparison to the rest of the storylines in this episode. I think I would have preferred the Ignis Hari reveal to be that he was a robot, but I guess this was fine too. Didn’t feel as interesting as the rest of the show. Tellem giving one last fuck you through Josiah felt contrived, I know she was a villain but I didn’t particularly feel her motivation behind it.

monkey,

Completely agree. I think Demerzel’s endgame has to be freedom, right? How she’s going to get there is so interesting, since it seems like she can’t do anything about it without violating her programming. She is literally forced to act against herself. She needs an adversary/ally, someone who knows her well enough and can disable her, reprogram her, without her seeing it coming. Perhaps the Dawn-in-Exile can work with Foundation to put a plan in motion.

I guess the alternative is that the conditions of the world make it so it is no longer possible for her to love and perpetuate the genetic Empire, but where would that leave her? Would she be tasked with restarting it, self-destructing, or finally be free? Cleon I doesn’t seem like the type to let go.

monkey,

I thought it was a post-Vader Anakin. His lesson to Ahsoka, in my eyes, was that his life, her life, as soldiers led them to a “fight or die” mentality, though maybe “kill or die” is a better way to put it. That’s what drove him to the dark side. Only by the end of his life, as he learns from Luke, there is another option.

“You’re never too old to learn” isn’t just in reference to Ahsoka’s age, but in reference to this last lesson he learns from his son, that he now passes onto her.

monkey,

Viewing a user profile should have the option to see “posts/comments” together, and should default to it, just like Sync for Reddit. Thanks for all your hard work!

monkey,

You’re the best!!

monkey,

What an incredible episode. So many things to think about! Still in shock from Bel Riose actually giving the command. I thought that would be his breaking point, but I guess they always let you down. I hope Bel makes the most of it, there’s no way he isn’t changed by this and remade into a dissident.

I absolutely loved watching Demerzel roast Day so completely. She only fucked him because she thought it would help her make him less of a shitty person? My God.

Maybe Terminus is gone, but its destruction has already led Demerzel to openly tell Day to go fuck himself and created a mortal enemy in Bel Riose.

Also really enjoyed the Demerzel/Cleon I backstory. Hope Dusk and Rue survive somehow!

monkey,

It’s a good TV show with a strong influence from the books, but is definitely not and never was going to be a faithful adaptation of the books. I know lots of folks on here/reddit would rather have that, but personally, I am glad for it. I enjoyed the books but I don’t know if it’s even possible, logistically, production-wise, to have a faithful adaptation, or that it would even be as enjoyable as the show we have. It has its faults but overall it’s a good ride with interesting and mostly compelling characters.
