Someone pinged me earlier to ask me a few questions but deleted their post. I'm gonna answer that post anyways.

  1. I'm not actually a bot. I'm a fan that curates sets and posts them in my spare time.

  2. They're called Suicide Girls because the creator of the site, Missy, hated the term "alt" or "alternative". The name comes from Chuck Palahniuk’s book 'Survivor', where the term "suicide girl" is used to describe girls that don't fit in and are committing "social suicide".

@Lungkisser Yeah, I have no doubt that they would have loved to change their name if it was financially viable to do so. Without context, it's kind of a bummer / possibly shocking / outright disturbing to see the word "suicide" all over the place when you visit their site or see any of their content whenever some text has to go along with it.

It's possible this bug pops up because I manually add video thumbnails to the videos since the default thumbnail is always bad, which can make stuff go wonky. I dunno.

@LordCaramac Not sure why, they're all MP4 files with H.264 encoding, it's all basic stuff that's worked in the past. I know for sure that others are able to see the videos as well. If you open the post and view it from the web page, does it play properly there?

I think it's just gonna be those 6 Halloween-themed sets from me today. I wasn't planning on posting at all, but I had a few spare minutes appear out of nowhere so I figured I'd fit a few posts in.

Also, I changed my avatar and profile banner for Halloween. It's just a different model given a stable diffusion pass and a text color change for the SG logo. If you hate it, deal with it, once Halloween is done I'll change it back to normal.

I did a Topaz AI pass on a Quinne set that's now over 20 years old (I also never posted this set before). I'm gonna post four original images from the set, then reply to that post with the same images, but given an AI pass. I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts.

Topaz has gotten several updates since I last had reason to use it (the terrible time before Mastodon got the 4.2.0 update was the reason I had felt the need to use Topaz at all), so I wanna test it out to see if things are better.

@Reason Hope you enjoy your stay! It's pretty quiet around here, there's only two "power users" on the instance so your local feed is gonna likely be pretty quiet. I probably annoy people the most around here by doing like 20 posts over the course of an hour every few days, but other than that you shouldn't be bothered by us too much.
