Hello ! My name is Niko, 18, Bi and I like computers, cooking, drawing, and biking. I'm studying Digital Systems in Greece currently but will move to Germany once im done (or even this year idk).

I'm really into programming stuff like algorithms, games and stuff like my 3D Engine, CPU sim and my programming language. Basically big nerd for anything puter-related. I use Arch & Artix btw.

@soweliniko It's kinda similar to politics if I had to compare it to something. Basically, most do it so that a person can interact with their main interests and posts while also being able to opt into the other posts optionally. I don't post or boost politics because I'm here for more computer related posting rather than politics but some people are way more into politics than me and because it defines them, they will post about it but they know it will turn some people away. I think that's pretty much similar to nsfw. People might have main interests they show but because the nsfw might turn some away, they place it behind an alt so as to focus on their main interests. Just like with politics, it doesn't have to be this way and some people consider it to be enough of a core interest that they don't have an alt for it. Sorry it took me way too many sentences to say all that but yeah, both are acceptable basically in my opinion and it's done to minimize alienation

Also I'm working on my language's internal handling of symbol tables / dynamic linked lists and just experimenting to see what minimizes fragmentation. I'll probably create some type of configurable block size so that instead of every element having its own size and making fragmentation even worse, you will have most things as a standard size (ex 32-64 bytes) and long strings will be the main offender. I'm 100% reinventing some kind of wheel

Just a tiny update: currently whether ill go to Germany this year depends on a fair amount of factors but the first 2 are whether my Greek Uni can qualify as a German Bachelor so that I can complete a Master's there and whether Saarland or TUM accept my submissions

@soweliniko Basically kinda the same thing happened to me mostly because they just want to be "practical" and dont really care much more about the diagnosis. I went in there with problems about school and other things and once they saw I ticked some boxes they gave me the diagnosis so I could get off their list. It's Greece though so this process took around a year at the very least from start to end

Hm, what German Unis are similar to "Digital Sytems" in Greece ? We basically do C, assembly, CPU design and all that low level stuff and I'm interested in compilers and a bit more offtopic, 3D raster engines and such. What is this low level category called so that I can search for good unis for it. Does anyone have any experience / know some good ones ?
