Electronics People! Can someone walk me through what is going on here?

On the regulator side of the added 100K resistor, I read an expected 3.3V. On the chip side, it is ~3.0V. Is that right?

It is meant to pull-up that GPIO pin replacing the SMT 100K pull-down resistor that was on the board...

@diyelectromusic well, sounds like the pin does not like it to be pulled up. Have you changed the configuration of the pin?

@diyelectromusic So the chip is not programmed by you? maybe it is set internaly to pulldown with an additional external pull-down resistor...so when you change the external Resistor to pull-up you get a voltage divider between the external pull-up and the internal pull-down.🤷

@diyelectromusic I don't what the chip in the middle is...so it's all wild guessing🤷

@diyelectromusic according to this: https://www.vlsi.fi/fileadmin/datasheets/vs1053.pdf you need to change pin33, not pin34.😉

@diyelectromusic let me have a second look

@diyelectromusic do you have a schematic of that board? also the solder blobs on pin 10-12 and 20-22 do not look good...20-22 are GND, so this is fine...could you double check if 33 and 34 pulled-down usually and 34 is not accidentaly connected to GND(somehow, not infinite resistance)...and maybe check if the large pin on the voltage regulator is actually Vout...is this a 4 or 5 stripe coded resistor?

@diyelectromusic 😕 this schematic shows 34 unconnected...

Was sagt der Minister?

RT @stephanpalagan
Das ist Körperverletzung im Amt. Mit vorheriger Androhung. Das fällt sehr deutlich unter die EGMR-Definition von Folter.
