I’m kidding - just a friendly heads up that I got myself added as a mod here, since the original mod seems to have disappeared (I’m not trying to “dirt road” them or anything)....
I was wondering if someone could make me a mod of !communitytv. The mod there hasn’t been active in 7 months. I messaged them last week and the week before, but got no response. I mainly just want to remove an old sticky post. Thanks!...
I’m thinking in the U.S. and Canada. For example, if you’re on vacation, you’ve checked out of your hotel room and have several hours until your flight, and you have some cans of beer left over. I know you could sneakily drink them in a park or something, but I’m just curious if there’s any way to do it that’s legal.
This video is from a couple of years ago, but I was reminded of it reading Tom’s new book, Biking Uphill in the Rain. Recommended for anyone interested in Seattle history and/or biking. It definitely deserves more views!
spoileralt text: A two panel comic. In the first panel there are two buttons labeled “I don’t believe in prescriptivism” and “‘Literally’ cannot mean ‘figuratively’”. A finger hovers between the buttons. In the second panel, the finger’s owner is sweating and wiping his brow, unable to decide.
Normally you tap the text of a comment to make the vote buttons appear, but if the comment is only a picture, clicking it will just open the picture. I’ve only been able to vote by tapping the username and then finding the comment from their profile. Let me know if I’m missing something....
Just based on how often I notice someone mispronounce a word without realizing it (or have done so myself and realized it later). Statistically I’m probably still doing it with some word.
I’ve made 3 comments in the past 2 days but none of them show up if I look at the home instance of the communities they’re on. They’re all on lemmy.world, but I see comments from other instances in the threads so I don’t think the problem is on their end....

is there a legal way to consume alcohol bought at a store, outside of a home, hotel room, etc.?

Anyone else have their eclipse viewing ruined by clouds?
Was in south Ontario, the sky was clear for about an hour before totality, and then about 15 minutes before, a big dark cloud came in and ruined it.
