It’s fine to pirate every piece of media. From books, to movies, to music, to textbooks, to newspapers, to my own comments online.

Information and art is meant to be shared and enjoyed. Pay walling a distraction from reality does nothing but make reality worse.

MDMA didn’t have a lobbyist group in its favor, otherwise we’d probably be all aware of the reality of effects like Oxycontin.

One hit of MDMA and Cannabis and you’re fine. One dose of opioids and you’re hooked for life, giving companies money and willing to pay for it over rent, food, your hobbies, your interests, and willing to stay with it over your friends and family.

Which one is legal?

Hyperbole is a thing.

Here’s a few things that are cheaper!

  • Soulseek/Nicotine+
  • Usenet Groups
  • Libraries (only if your local one has CDs, and often is popular music and no indie stuff) And if you want some album art: MusicBrainz Picard

If you want it on your phone, SD cards are cheaper than ever for big space. Unless you’re on iPhone.

My Xiaomi phone for $400 supports up to 1 TB SD cards, so that’s pretty sweet.

Yeah after a long, long time chewing, it turns into a paste. I learned this when I was forced to keep a piece in my mouth for hours beside my mom thought it was disrespectful to some event to go to a trash can.

But yeah, I think all gums do this. Just due to the gum’s chemicals mixing with your saliva. All foods do this at some point.

The California McDonald's rumor is coming from a digital ghost - The writer boosting McDonald's misinformation probably doesn't exist. (www.sfgate.com)

You probably haven’t heard the name Tony Bonnani, but he’s one of the most prolific writers on the internet. He publishes several articles a day, often churning out pieces within minutes of each other. Compared to most journalists, Tony Bonnani writes at a superhuman pace....

It might help I’m in California, but I got it all over my Google News feed and a few other people talked about it near me.

In other words; 9 out of 10 Republicans are drunk on propaganda and cult shit that they can’t look in a mirror and not see Trump.

Shit like this is why it’s not worth your time trying to reason with someone who never used reason to get them into the same positions in life. They’ll die fuming holding their Trump hats made in China before admitting they were wrong once.

In the end they are still killed when its not worth the time of the farmers. You’re either killed for meat, or killed when you’re done making milk.

It might be more humane, but the better option is “Don’t breed animals just to kill them in a few years.” It’s better but the solution for ending the pain is preventing it ever happening in the first place.

queue,
@queue@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

I agree no life is without pain, it’s why I think breeding just to have milk or meat is immoral and unethical. I don’t want an industrial scale level pain factory that increases global warming because I want a steak or a glass of milk.

A life is not born just to die as a song is not begun just to end, the life itself is the beauty of nature. I don’t think a humane way of killing someone or something justifies a life trapped in a machine to be slaughtered when ripe.

I want to make it clear I eat animal products, due to my family wanting it more than I do. I had a meatloaf today of ground beef, I don’t claim to be a moral high ground when I clearly am not.

But I don’t think that even if the death is humane, the purpose of life is not be a product to be sold, for humans, cattle, pigs, dogs, cats, horses, fish, bears, etc. I would object if humans were in the same placement.

My landlord didn’t pay for nor make the land my place is on. Nor the place I reside on. Yet he jacks up the rent every march as soon as he can, as much as he legally can.

My landlord doesn’t clean the lots, doesn’t clean the public bathrooms, doesn’t do anything but come on by to complain about the lots he doesn’t improve.

How he is providing anything but less money in my family’s bank account, and an headache to everyone he complains to?

She didn’t campaign in certain states, and added fuel to the Trump dumpster fire because it made her look better in comparison. And Trump claimed he would help the states she ignored, talking big game in the Rust Belt to “Make America Great Again”.

It really was a “slam dunk” in making sure the biggest dipshit running for president win because you just assumed you’d win.

Alright, I’ll try to do better. I will say that while this doesn’t defend my actions, I’ve been under a high amount of stress in the last 2 weeks. If people want, I will resign as mod without question.

EDIT: Restored the posts with “Restored due to community feedback/me being a dick.”

queue,
@queue@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

I will attempt to do better, but if the community wishes, I will resign as moderator due to my real life getting stressful and being a moderator here isn’t going to solve real life issues.

EDIT: I have restored the posts.

EDIT 2: About the banned user IsThisAnAI @lemmy.world, they are constantly being reactionary and defending corporations at every given moment. It felt right to do it from my point of view. Right now they are complaining about “nanny state california” and that’s not something I personally want in this community.

EDIT 3: I am going to do some shopping and chores, if the community wants me gone, I will remove myself when I am back, or have the mod team boot me.

Mainly because I sometimes need a reality check. I agreed to be a mod here at a normal point of the last year, and the last ~5 months have been putting so much weird shit in my brain it’s not been healthy.

Let’s say for the sake of argument that is does remain all local. Hogging up your CPU, RAM, and Disk space, but its all local, unlike every other bit telemetry.

If it is completely local, why would I want it? What does the end user gain? I can think of what non-Microsoft agents would gain. If your computer got compromised, now a third party can see everything Recall logged. Could be completely mundane, could be private information, could be something worth blackmailing someone other.

Today I had to punch in my SSN and phone number to for my health insurance to confirm who I said I am. I don’t want anyone to know that who has no direct need to.

So if it is completely local, and everyone is opt-in by default, why would I want it in the first place? What does the end user gain? If I wanted my CPU hogged up for no reason, I’d start mining Bitcoin. If it was harmless, why is Microsoft not really commenting on it on the same way they do other things like Office, Teams, Xbox, etc.

@queue@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Let’s see if the Microsoft bootlicker has an argument other than “Oh but that was in the past, who’s to say it’s still happening?”
