What exactly are people upset about? Other discussions on this topic appear to mostly involve people who already know what’s wrong. Something about new player experience and bots?
I really liked it. Bikes and cars go vroom, guns go bang, flamethrowers go woosh. 10/10. I’m contemplating going again next weekend.
My roommate was bored. Didn’t like the writing, didn’t like Taylor-Joy’s performance. He rated it “not good.” I didn’t really disagree with any of his specific complaints, I just didn’t care about them.
I suspect your mileage really depends on what kind of audience member you are.
Right, it’s shocking that he snaps the pencil because the listeners were playing along, and then he suddenly went from pretending to have a friend to pretending to murder said friend. It’s the same reason you might gasp when a friendly NPC gets murdered in your D&D game: you didn’t think they were real, but you were willing to pretend they were.
The AI hype doesn’t come from people who are pretending. It’s a different thing.
Iger was CEO when the project was announced, left for a while in the middle, missing the opening, and was back again in time to close it down. He stepped down in February 2020 and was reinstated in November 2022.
This is Sakurai’s explanation, and it seems reasonable to me:
“I feel very sorry for making the user wait,” he explained. “If you take one second from each user, that means you’ll be taking 10,000 seconds from 10,000 people. The more this repeats over the years, the more time you will cause players to lose."
They have realized that the rules are all made up, but they incorrectly believe that the world is fair and they also get to make up rules. A sovcit is someone who has not realized that the reason the government can make rules is because those rules are backed by its monopoly on violence.
If I am reading the article correctly, the festival that is suing is being held for the first time this year, while the other group has been calling their festivals “Wirral Viking Festivals” since at least 2020.
It takes a lot of arrogance to initiate legal action against a festival that has been using its name longer than you!
Is a friend of a friend who knows an editor nepotism? I thought nepotism meant hiring people you’re related to, or whose career you similarly have a vested interest in. Can your friend’s friend commit nepotism by recommending you to someone at a company they don’t work for?
Edit: Or, can the hiring manager commit nepotism by hiring someone they’ve never heard of before based on a tip from a coworker who heard about a potential hire from their friend? I didn’t originally mention this one because I felt like it was obviously no, but I guess it is more likely than the other question I asked since it’s actually about hiring.
For the first time in it's 17 year run, TF2's review status has been demoted to "Mixed". (x.com)
