I am a bit split right now, my car is starting, well actually continuing since day one, to give me trouble, but the trouble is getting worse and worse. I am about to get a company car in the next two weeks, that I am allowed to fully use for private trips as well.
So normally, I would sell my private car and not think about it twice.
But, I am never ever going to get a manual 4wd bmw coupé with a proper petrol engine ever again. It is the last of its breed. If feel like I need to save it ...

After having wasted hours today trying to get Windows11 to install on a PC that fullfills all hardware requirements, only to see it install and then fail to boot, I am more and more coming to appreciate how easy installing and using Linux has become. Insert usb drive, boot install thanks, see ya

Here is an interesting one, building my xml converter tool on mac using g++ displays all errors and warnings by default, on my ubuntu 24.04 box, it doesn't show a thing and seems as all has gone through without errors.
adding -v shows a little, but not as detailed as the errors on my mac. (See screenshot)
Any tips as how to get my linux box to show me more details?

Mowing the lawn, listening to music. Song ends, suddenly hear bells ringing, very rhythmic, thinking nice, Hells Bells has come up!
Different song starts playing, taking out the ear phones, realising it's actual church bells I am hearing.
Taking out phone, playing Hells Bells anyway 🤷‍♂️

@greenpete I actually saw them live 2009 or 2010, don’t remember exactly, when they came to Austria. Was a brilliant show, started of with a hail storm and a flash hitting somewhere behind the stage, 100k black leather jacket turning into umbrellas and Brain Johnson stepping on the stage, telling us he knew the weather was shit, but we shouldn’t mind, they would be making up for it

Man are the two Jedi games around Cal Kestis good, just finished survivor (again). Only a few games I ever played had such good storylines, almost rivals Mass Effect or the Mafia Series….
Also they perfectly run under linux using proton :-)

@jonasgeiler Ironically I had to go to Salzburg for the first part of the exams to becoming a driving instructor.
But yeah, especially on longer drives I do prefer the train, much more comfortable and it doesn't matter if you are tired on the way back

Something I noticed lately, the sonis play:1 and One SL both have enough base for your average music needs. If you have an arc paired with these it miraculously lacks base when listening to music. Although having two ones for base in the same room. Oh there is a subwoofer for the arc available, but that surely isn’t the reason….
