How do my (now) fellow users use Mastodon/Fedi? The website? A client application? A PWA? CLI client?

I'd really like to use the PWA but the problem is that Firefox doesn't support that anymore. There's only one GTK client and it's libadwaita so that's a no-go too.

@ParadeGrotesque Yeah I use Tokodon on my main machines, and it's amazing.

I wish there was a GTK equivalent that isn't libadwaita, and isn't so tied to GNOME.

@frumble I mean, I used Cinnamon on my main machine, and GNOME everywhere else. It wasn't until later in the KDE 5 lifecycle that I felt KDE was going in the right direction - and then soared right past GNOME.

The only more substantial thing I can't seem to get working just yet on OpenBSD is audio. Everything indicates it's working, but there's no output. I'm considering getting my USB soundcard, which is crazy compatible, because to be fair to OpenBSD - the on-board sound chip on this motherboard has been problematic for years.

Nothing entertains me more than rando American tech bloggers taking cursory glances at EU law without any formal education or understanding of the EU and proclaiming they are badly written and incomprehensible.

Bitch, I've been translating these things for almost 15 years, and not only are they actually quite well-written and easy to understand, they're nicely formulaic and have a consistent writing style that makes them easy to parse.

If you're reading EU law and you don't understand it, that's a you problem.

Desktop Linux has improved leaps and bounds thanks to systemd, the various modern audio stacks, and wayland. As these new technologies were adopted, the level of jank dropped significantly.

It's been about a month since I took my @osnews work full time.
