I see so many YouTube videos of people running blatantly red lights and getting in accidents or other videos of people stopped and gunning it backwards, hitting something, then they put it in drive and launch full speed forwards and hit something else. What is going through these peoples mind? I just don’t get how there is...
My next laptop will be a framework. They offer parts and manuals and it is built to be fixed and upgraded instead of thrown away like almost everything else now. frame.work
If someone you know constantly makes reproductive anatomy or other borderline jokes and you think they should stop just play dumb. After the joke just say (with a straight face) that you don't get it. When they have to explain it it the joke satisfaction is gone and then more technical words need to be used to explain it making...
I am all for free speech in public. It's traditional to keep things professional at work and not every workplace is the same so everyone can find a place where they can express themselves however they want. When you on deployment and your boss repeatedly makes sexual harassment jokes and you can't just leave the military then it's more of a problem.
Why YSK: An airbag typically deploys at 100-200 MPH and if your phone is sitting there it will be launched towards you and probably impale you. Don't put your phone on your steering wheel over your airbag. Don't put any alternate logos or bedazzling on your airbag. Basically don't do anything to or put anything on your airbag...
Yea this too. If you are ever debating doing this search you up some aftermath pictures. People's femurs break and their feet are up by their face. Just don't do it.
I think The Verge has been getting better over time. Its kind of a breath of fresh air they seem to mostly stay politically neutral and they occasionally use tasteful euphemisms while reporting very accurately. I miss Paul and Dieter but the newer people are doing great work too.
I bought my Logitech G533 a year and a half ago. Had decent reviews, and I got it new for a reasonable price on eBay. Two days ago, the mic broke, and I discovered it's a known issue (Reddit link) since 5 years ago. But, I thought, clearly this would be covered by its two-year warranty! Doesn't even require a receipt if you just...
I see stories about how election is rigged or that there are security vulnerabilities and lots of people don't believe the outcome. Why don't they just open source everything so that anyone can look at the code and be sure the votes are tallied correctly?
Thunder is an open Lemmy app for iOS and Android that is currently under development. You won't find it in any app store, so it's not as well known as Jerboa. Still, it's an excellent app....
Just going to add it does look like its available on android through izzyondroid fdroid repo. I'm not a developer and I wanted toupdates automatically as they are released so this is great.
That's kind of what it came down to for me too. Hey signal is good and its free. I don't have Snapchat, fb, tiktok, WhatsApp or telegram. Its signal or SMS.
Also if you can get a group together for a purpose like playing call of duty together that can help with adoption.
Imho a decision that doesn't make sense, Google already has paid for all the infrastructure so running the service to them is pure profit, not to mention the lost possibility to upsell Google workspace (paid gmail with a custom domain) or Google cloud services to all their customers....
I use bitwarden for the bulk of my 2fas and aegis for the 2fa for bitwarden itself and a couple other sensitive/important sites that I want separated. Be sure to back up your 2fas somehow for bitwarden.

Hey lemmings!...
LPT: If someone makes an inappropriate joke you don't like then play dumb. This will wreck the joke and might even get them to stop.

YSK that putting anything on the airbag of your steering wheel will become a projectile if you crash and can seriously harm or kill you or a passenger.
