I got few more screens done for my BBS! :)

It starts to look professional now :P The basic functionality is considered good enough.

Now I want to deep my toes in to the MPL - Mystic Programing Language. Sneak peek (mockups) are in the ansi gallery (in min menu: !).

@tripplehelix I did some more updates and restored x/y absolute positions for login.

Don't know what is the problem with intro.

Works on DOS telnet and netrunner (via Steam Proton).

@tripplehelix What OS was that? I chjecked at the moment in Win10 and latest Netrunner and it's still working fine on my end.

But I did make a super small change to that .ans file yesterday and re-saved it.

The login I just redrawn few characters on the station for better shading.

For login I now understand why so many BBSes have it bare minimal at the bottom - to omi all the relative/absolute problems with positioning inputs :P (I got back to absolute now and have 1 line free at the bottom for all the clients that puts status bar there.

I'm using DOS native + anisotropic for that CRT look. This is the font you are reffering to?

BTW: I see that there is one empty line in the art - I'll fix that later Today. - EDIT: fixed this and also reduced height of the login page just to be on the safe side.

@tripplehelix fun fact: the windows10 telnet is also completely broken. But at least it shows problematic lines - I think I found one of the sourse of problems (end lines!)

Login screen after second rendering is almost invissible. And the blocky characters are kinda missing :P

@tripplehelix Probably too. But removing last char on each line prevents this.

It's getting better. I found that this terminal doesnt like the circular char.

There is still a problem after any next render that the block chars disapear but it's closer to reality now.

Figured out how to move login/pass prompts.

Works on win2k telnet. Now I can try to make it longer and more epic :p

@TheOuterLinux @tripplehelix I'm using Netrunner on Steam Deck. But on the retro computer I want to be telnet compatible.

@tripplehelix On linux you need ANSI chars so this will not work out of the box :P

@tripplehelix @TheOuterLinux I got that to myself after too many connect/disconnect when I was testing each char :P

Then I moved to local IP and continued :P I don't know when the "ban" is lifted as I still can not connect myself. Probably need to do this by hand.

@tripplehelix @TheOuterLinux yes, it's next to me ;P You're right I need to configure the server a little bit. I was too much concentrated on the problem with ANSI characters braking everything.

@tripplehelix @TheOuterLinux removed all IPs from blacklist and added local IP to the whitelist.

Rule is 4 connections in 120sec := ban.

BTW: The ban list was covering already two screens :P

@tripplehelix @TheOuterLinux I'm still figuring out the menu - I disabled those options but did not know that it will crash/disconnect.

BTW: this is super WIP - I'm at the creation of login screen at the moment :P (will be longer with big space reveal and then actual login screen similar to what is now).

Long way to the menu and actual content :P

But I will try to hide those "not enabled" menu options or find out how to handle invalid input. It kicks me (SysOp) too :P
