Veronica at !veronicaexplains_channel (link to channel) puts subtitles on all of her videos if you like Linux-related content, but she’s more the exception than the rule. The thing is that YouTube has auto-generated subtitles, which is a thing I think no other video platfom offers.
As many people have pointed out already, this happens because JavaScript was rushed. But why do we still use a language whose foundation was built in only ten days(!) for scripting on webpages we build today? Why hasn’t there been a push for web browsers to support other scripting languages (other than maybe Dart)?
On the top, there is text in fancy writing that states ‘If you think “pronouns are confusing”, wait until you find about’, being cut off. The last word of the sentence, ‘verbs’, is in yellow, and over a digital painting of an long-bearded wizard using fire magic to attack and burn a defenseless individual in front of him.
A two-panel comic by BrookeValley. In the first panel, a caption states “Me in the women’s section one year ago”, and a masc-presenting Brooke thinks “Are people looking at me? Am I making people feel uncomfortable?? [the last word is in italics]”. (In the purple background, a pink t-shirt is hung on the wall that states “Live Laugh Love”.) In the second panel, a caption states “Me in the women’s section now”, and a femme-presenting Brooke holds a purple shirt with the words “Head empty” on her hands while humming “Doo-da doo Da-doo da Doo doo doo” (In the orange brackground, a pair of jeans are hung on the wall.)
Key issues up for negotiation include pay and conditions, but also “protections against unrestrained use of artificial intelligence”, specifically the impact upon performance capture artists....
This looks fake. The website seems really sketchy, and when a website looks this sketchy, it’s better not to visit it. (And even if the website was official, there aren’t many good reason why the average person would want a Windows Pro license instead of the Home license.)
Context: Twitter is currently rebranding it self as X.com, which is the bottom logo. X.org is a FOSS implementation of the The X Window System which is being slowly replaced by the newer Wayland display server. Because of the Twitter rebrand Someone decided to make Wayland.social, to parody the X.org to Wayland transition.

I mean, they’re probably destroying a lot of Siberian ice to do this, so it might even have the same ecological impact as something like mining, I think
