Writing can take many forms now a days. Some prefer pen and paper and others prefer word processors. I am curious what !writing uses for their own writing....

I joined Beehaw specifically hoping to get in on the ground floor of the growing writing community here, but I have to admit I haven’t had much to say....

This morning I decided to compete with ChatGPT on who could write the best short story given my original idea. I assume my story idea is original because I have never heard of a story about this before....

Right now, I'm working on the planning stages for a video game. I don't know if it'll actually go anywhere, but it's something I've always wanted to do. I haven't told anyone except you guys, not even my wife.

Just a wannabe writer here. I’ve only ever strung a few paragraphs together, maybe an essay’s worth occasionally. I used to work on blog posts in Evernote and I still use it for capturing stray thoughts. I use it as a place for ideas and that’s exactly what happens. I never develop the idea, I just write down another one....

Do you use Goodreads or something similar like Fantastic Fiction?

Something bad happens, and instead of talking about it or taking action, they just brush it under the rug, causing tensions to rise until the person who wasn’t supposed to find out eventually does. Seriously, can’t anyone have a mature conversation?

I’m planning a sci-fi and fantasy webseries. It probably won’t go anywhere, so don’t get too excited, but I need help with the plot of one episode....

When posts are made on lemmy they can be federated over to any instance so long as the instance is federated with ours and the community is federated onto that instance as well. It’s awesome! But for community building sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming....

What's crackalacking! I'm currently trying to outline a Space Opera novel. This will be my 5th book; my other 4 were learning experiences, so I'll likely start over with a new pen name.

For example, /r/writing has weekly critique and check-in threads, and /r/writingprompts does a theme-based writing contest every Thursday....
