I guess the way that my brain works is that I try to plan out the best ideas, the best scenes, the best actions first. I focus on what excites me and what will function the best. This uses a lot of brain power, and I can only do it for a bit before I get exhausted and end that day’s writing....
I want to share an experience I had the other day that fundamentally changed the way I think about my writing and the way I process feedback....

I've been writing fiction for some years now, but there is a non-fiction project I'd wanted to start for a while but I keep postponing it. It's mostly related to my life experiences and I think letting them out would be cathartic and writing a guide that may help other people with the same struggles feels the best way to do it....

So, I’m currentlich reading Kobo Abe’s “Kangaroo Notebook” and I’m a bit confused about his use of tense shifts....
My daughter is studying Creative Writing and English Literature at Birmingham (UK) University. She’s put together some pieces on Substack. Most of them are over my head, but this one hits right in the feels. Apart from a couple of technical inaccuracies, it’s spot on. Hope you like it ;-)
i run a gaming blog that is more like a creative writing blog. i just published this essay. the essay’s main theme is nostalgia and living-in-the-past told through personal stories....
