They'll get around this by painting a EULA on the windows: "By approaching close enough to read this you give us the right to do whatever we want with whatever data we can collect."

Sorry, EULA says you agree to non-binding arbitration.

Primate uses words against another primate who wrote some words down. Nothing will come of this and children will still be killed with my tax dollars. This is considered normal.

Despite polls, Biden aides insist Gaza campus protests will not hurt reelection bid (www.reuters.com)

WASHINGTON, May 18 (Reuters) - Several top White House aides say they are confident protests across U.S. college campuses against Israel’s offensive in Gaza will not translate into significantly fewer votes for Joe Biden in November’s election, despite polls showing many Democrats are deeply unhappy about the president’s...

I think the point is that voting has now become ceremonial

I'm less concerned with college students and more worried about Muslims. They're key demographics in a lot of swing states. If Biden loses this by a few hundred votes in Michigan or Pennsylvania it'll be because of that, not college kids.

And it will also show what a joke of a system of government we have. Again.

Clinton won California by a 2:1 margin and Trump was still president.

Not only that, but you'll be able to raise heirloom breeds rather than the monocultures of heavily optimized animals we have at most farms.

I don't know why we're getting mad about this when there's absolutely nothing that can be done. The Senate isn't going to impeach him, and the House definitely wouldn't convict. It feels like getting heartburn for no reason.

Either way, never gonna happen.

Raskin is the only example of someone I have voted for in a primary who went on to win and be kickass in office. It's only happened once in 24 years of voting, but I'm glad it was him.

In my job I write a lot of bullshit sentences that I'd rather a machine write for me. But the solution is to make it so I don't have to write bullshit sentences, not to get a machine to write bullshit.

Fewer people in the US plan to buy EVs this year, study shows (www.reuters.com)

The number of buyers in the U.S. considering an electric vehicle purchase in 2024 has fallen from a year ago due to a shortage of affordable cars, inadequate charging infrastructure and ignorance about EV benefits, a study by J.D. Power, opens new tab has shown....

MG is owned by China, and I have this fever dream that they'll produce something like the MGB but electric. A cheap fun sports car, built and priced for young people. It wouldn't need powerful motors or a huge battery pack or a ton of features.

It'll never happen, but it's nice to imagine.
