we need to mandate that any AC unit also be a heat pump to sell it here, it's like one valve difference just mandate it 5 years out. also ban gas lines to new buildings
the real problem is in 2008 there was no work so tradesmen left the industry and never came back. the government should have included public housing in the bailout spending so they'd have work and we'd have less of a housing crisis
if base food prices really make the old fast food economics nonviable, I expect the space to die off and be replaced by fast causal. otherwise I expect a lot of them to die on their own greed and the rest to get with it. it seems the fast food space is going all in on drive-thrus so maybe that's their future niche?
