And so is it accurate to say kbin is its own protocol which can be used to aggregate and interact with mastodon and lemmy posts?

Ever read a comment so bad that you demand a refund?

Someone is working on an Apollo-like iOS app for Lemmy called Artemis (and it looks great)

While larger, more general communities are thriving on the Fediverse - I'm missing out on the niche communities

Gaming, news, tech, general literature. All of these are somewhat thriving, with a steady influx of posts and comments. At the same time, the userbase is sorely lacking for more niche communities. In my case it'd be stuff like poetry, yoga, religion, linguistics, meditation. Or many other communities I'd doubt they'd form a...

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do for all the communities I want. I’m starting them, making some placeholder rules, letting them attract a community, then I’m going to have the community vote on permanent rules, and then, once all of that is in place to keep the community stable, recruit mods to take over. At that point, it’ll be clear which users would make good mods (I hope)

I like this comment but I don’t know what im supposed to do about it

Is this a UI issue or a fundamental flaw of the Fediverse? In other words, is this only confusing because of how the UI and thread display logic respond to the data they’re getting? Is this just an issue of how the comments thread is ordered, and the fact that it isn’t what the user would expect? (I only ask because I’m curious and want to know how this place works)

I’ve always wanted to do an active mod team that comments in real time, but it would take a few more people (although some AI auto mods could potentially be fact checkers… but that’s a whole other project. But, I think, a project worth considering after we do the basics.)

FACT SHEET: President Biden Announces New Actions to Provide Debt Relief and Support for Student Loan Borrowers | The White House (www.whitehouse.gov)

No President has fought harder for student debt relief than President Biden, and he’s not done yet. President Biden and Vice President Harris will not let Republican elected officials succeed in denying hardworking Americans the relief they need. In light of the Supreme Court’s ruling this morning, President Biden and his...

Their new argument that they have the authority through a different law seems more ironclad to me.

As if, and this is total speculation on my part, spending their time on the obviously-gonna-fail one was a way of stalling to make the real forgiveness happen right before re-election

Yeah I keep wishing I could see this in the Apollo UI
