coremeltfx,

Metas new Twitter competitor Threads claims it will connect to the fediverse eventually, it doesn't yet. If Threads does then I expect he'll use the old microsoft "embrace, extend, extinguish" tactic. Add extensions to ActivityPub that only the the threads client and server support in the hope that Threads client becomes the dominant way to access the fediverse then when all the clients give up, he can drop support for it.

YSK: The Fediverse is a privacy nightmare (blog.bloonface.com)

TLDR: While Fediverse won’t directly serve you ads, anonymous bad actors other than Meta can save, redistribute, and even dox you for any information you post here. Anything you post here can/will remain forever on some malicious instance that doesn’t honor deletion requests. So be careful!

coremeltfx,

Anything you post on the internet is public and you should stand behind it. If you want to be anonymous on the fediverse there's steps you can take to make sure you aren't easily doxed. use a unique username and email thats not used anywhere else. don't post photos that can possibly be geo located. Don't mention who you work for, don't mention places you visit. Pretty basic stuff.

coremeltfx,

As someone living in Asia, the bumgun is superior to toilet paper. In 1960s soviet union they would of used buckets of water and their left hand like is still common in India. Not really a big deal to not have toilet paper.

coremeltfx,

I meant from a users point of view? is there a way to combine our usage of lemmy / kbin and mastodon?

coremeltfx,

Technically you can view & interact with kbin & Lemmy from Mastodon and vice versa? - As a user or you mean if I wrote code to do this?

coremeltfx,

thanks, very useful

coremeltfx,

thanks !

coremeltfx,

All I want him to do is figure out the rights issues and do re-releases of the Black and White games. Populus, Dungeon Keeper and Magic Carpet games. Remasters would be nice, but just get them working 16:9 on modern windows would do.

coremeltfx,

Dying Light 2. it was a little rough on launch but recent patchs have improved it a lot
