I've seen a post here about Reddit restoring user content without permission and discussing whether this is legal or not, and decided to create this post to help others find resources regarding this before taking any legal action....
The biggest issue with most Reddit-like websites is that the general user-base tends to talk a lot about Reddit and why they hate it.
The issue with lack of content is the 90-9-1 rule. I’m planning to actually start posting to this website soon just to start more discussions and topics. Post anything and everything; it’s how a site like this grows.

A newly declassified report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reveals that the federal government is buying troves of data about Americans.
Hi, /u/loki - the magazine rules state 'make like a vagina: don't be a dick'. While I appreciate the sentiment - don't be a jerk - crude, unnecessarily gendered ways of expressing that seem improper. My suggestion would be that we as a community reconsider that positioning.
Is Apple going to make a Mastodon server? I think that'd be pretty cool. In Apple fashion, it would require an app only available on iPhone and Mac, and this app wouldn't be able to connect to third party instances....
Please no... For the love of Foss, no. Apple would start making private changes to the ActivityPub protocol to support mundane things like images and polls in their own way while images and polls from other instances wouldn't load properly and would be in a green bubble.
Mastodon thanks to the whole Twitter debacle, although I have a hard time knowing if people or entities I follow on twitter are on Mastodon unless I happen to see them mention it. Trying out Lemmy while Reddit is in turmoil, and I’m finding it a better fit to connect to communities. Beginning to get a better understanding of the ‘verse now as a result of knowing about more than one implementation.
I joined Mastodon in...either late 2016 or early 2017? And really enjoyed it but couldn't find enough people to follow and not enough people I knew tried it out so I fell off of it. Came back some number of months before the big Twitter exodus so I at least got to see it in its normal calm state before that. I've tried out various fedi platforms since then.
If Matrix counts as the Fediverse, then Matrix. I set up Matrix to join the postmarketOS server, then mirrored my OpenRGB Discord over to Matrix with a bridge bot. However, due to lack of moderation and an influx of spammers I ended up making that private.
Then I set up a Mastodon account when Twitter started showing signs of failure and have mostly moved to Mastodon though I still occasionally check up on Twitter.
Now I set up a Lemmy account because of Reddit's failings. Ready for the Reddit exodus. At least this time we're moving to something not in the hands of a single corporation that can sell us out like Digg and Reddit did.
Kinda the same here. Tried it our early, but it was kinda dead so I left. Then Twitter banned me for setting my profile name to Elon Musk, so I gave it another try and there's all kinds of activity now. Really like it.

Mine was either mastodon or matrix. I got into both at the same time. What are some other fediverse sites for beginners?
