The celebration I join in my dream is on the steps of the memorial where I and others spontaneously gather and start making speeches in between unbridled "hootin' and hollerin'" in raucous joy.
I hope this is a good omen; it's the first positive thought I've had about the #election.
@LukefromDC Black women during slavery already lived the forced births, by rape and otherwise, similar to The Handmaid's Tale, so that scenario is already banked in history.
A second all-out shooting civil war here in the U.S. will be a new phenomenon.
@ricardoharvin Interesting point, especially after the protesters at SCOTUS using Handmaid's Tale dress were mostly white.
The racialized forced birth continues: it is Black women who get told falsely by docs they have to take a drug test when pregnant, then get prosecuted for a positive test or charged with homicide if they miscarry, etc. Remember that "Angola" in Louisiana is not the only plantation prison, just one of the best known.
Reminder: if you are pregnant it is legal in all 50 states to refuse a hospital/doctor demanded drug test!
