Who handled sorting in the search of the docs? I'm searching replace and first have to go through 8 pages of fortinet to get to Ansible.builtin

@fink if you aren't aware, they about the relaunch the docs. you should make a post on their new forums to ensure the new docs don't have this issue, cause i agree it's horrid currently

The instant type search thing does not hint about further pages. You only see that after pressing enter. Yes there is no button for that.

Don't let me talk about the horrible versioning that is all over the place.

ok, what.
searching for lineinfile on
docs.ansible.com/ansible-core/2.13 you get to
docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/collections/ansible/builtin which hints to "latest" in the URL, but the dropdown on the left says "devel" (but also 2.9 and latest). So devel is the same as latest and when i select 2.9 i get redirected and do not have a dropdown anymore. Also the URL structure changes completely. So no switching between versions via URL. Like in any sane docs.

Lets search for lineinfile on galaxy. Nothing.
https://galaxy.ansible.com/ui/namespaces/builtin/?tab=collections is empty.

Ok, so what did i miss that i can not get docs for something that is "builtin" for 2.14, but only 2.9?

https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/collections/ansible/builtin/index.html hints about a 2.17.0.dev0 version. If i choose 2.9 in the dropdown i get a completely broken 404. Searching for lineinfile on https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/2.9/ only links to /latests/.
Oh i can manually navigate to https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/2.9/modules/lineinfile_module.html#lineinfile-module - no version but "27.05.2022"

WHERE ARE THE DOCS FOR THE BUILTIN STUFF FOR 2.14? IS THERE SOMETHING LIKE generate-docs-from-local-files.py? (as e.g. pydoc)

Bloody hell.

@fink not much of an answer, but at least from the cli, if you have Ansible 2.14 installed then running ansible-doc lineinfile will only show you the 2.14 version of the docs
