A question for people in Paris:

We´ll be on a family vacation in France in the 2nd half of May, and are pondering whether to visit Paris.

Are there any important limitations due to the preparation for the Olympics? Major sights blocked off, or anything like that? Lots of security hassle?

We´ll be travelling with children, so we´re trying to avoid long queues etc.

I'm not perfect, which is why I listen to feedback and implement it accordingly.

Let me give you an example, @kyva commented on a post I made mentioning our onboarding flow is far from perfect.

Instead of ignoring them, or trying to justify it, I asked for their feedback.

They responded with mockups that solve the issue, so I let them know we'll be implementing this in our new app!

I just finished it, and can't wait to ship the new app!!

Ein Geschäft hat eine Ladesäule aufgestellt, samt markiertem Boden.

Zwei haben nichts besseres zu tun als die beiden zu blockieren. Keines der beiden Fahrzeuge ist elektrisch betrieben, aber der Parkplatz ist nahe am Eingang.

So wird das nichts mit der wenn diese dauernd von anderen blockiert wird.

Wenn ihr mögt, gebt Ratschläge, aber wundert euch nicht, wenn ich nicht reagiere. Bin angenervt.

Ich habe nen Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i Duplex-Einzugscanner. Früher hab ich unter Windows den proprietären Treiber benutzt, um in PDFs zu scannen, mit OCR. Wenn ich mal nen Kassenzettel scanne, erkennt die Software das und macht automatisch ein sehr schmales PDF daraus.

This is my face when Python's socket.gethostbyaddr() appears not to be able to return multiple names for a single IP address. Or at least it doesn't on Fedora and Ubuntu with their versions of Python 3.

(If you want to test it yourself, try 72.136.172.146, which right now returns 17 DNS PTR results for me. I would be interested if this works for you.)

You could also 'strace -f xxx' where xxx is the command. There you can see what happens under the hood and which sys calls are being used. Should be the same at some point.

    running under just stalls unless I exclude /dev.

    Like, it continues updating the terminal, but it looks as if the file scanner simply stops doing anything. No CPU usage either.

    I don't think I even want to know why, but I'd be surprised if it's restic's fault. 🙄
