My backup data was last modified today in BackBlaze! That's good. Next thing to check will be the logs for restic to see if I can find any notes about monitoring failing.

🧵 From systemctl list-timers I can see I have a service named restic-server-data.service, so those are the logs I'll check.

Cool, the answer is there. It's a syntax issue is now I called the aws binary. Easy fix! On it!

🧵 The problem with my syntax seemed to be how I'd lovingly formatted some multi-line #YAML, yet it didn't get translated back into valid shell syntax. I abandoned that approach in favor of a super-log and ugly one-liner.

🧵 I've got a fresh #restic backup running for the service that wasn't set up before and I'll check my metrics tomorrow.

The #Ansible role I'm using is: https://github.com/roles-ansible/ansible_role_restic

The backup completed and I see fresh metrics in AWS Cloudwatch Metrics, but not in my Dashboard I just made. Sigh.

@markstos That's awesome! I'm also backing up mine with Backblaze via restic, but I'm doing mine old school with a bash script in crontab.
