Global warming isn’t dividing us. There is nothing divisive about the planet dying. It’s literally the most unifying event imaginable.

What’s dividing us is the fact that a significant number of people are so obsessed with their regressive politics that are literally willing to accelerate the death of the planet rather than allow any sort of progress.

Once an issue has been politicized and made partisan, it is difficult to undo; it requires one party to renege or try to spin that they aren't backpedaling. Further, their supporters ties themselves up in that identity and are resistant to change. To that end, the last decade might have been the most harmful in respect to climate change, simply because one side of the political spectrum made this a wedge issue.
