@garius I'm planning something similar - I might try a long term Williams rebuild with Flörsch + Albon. I've been on a trip this weekend and haven't been able to play yet
@garius thanks for the tip! I try to keep a close eye on the finance screen in 22. I liked trying to stretch each dollar as far as I could with a less financially healthy team
@i_Cal yeah, it's (mostly) for fun for me. Sunday's is Crusader Kings 3 then Mondays evenings I vary things up.
So Monday's will be F1 Manager for the near future, but I'll also be playing the save off stream and will add interesting progress from that into youtube channel updates.
@garius I tried doing that in the first game with a woman driver, but the generated ones are all too young to go into F1 so I've got to play forward like 5 seasons first.
@thecrawford yeah, there was a mod that replaced a few of the starting drivers with real female drivers for the first one, which speed up that process a bit.
For this one, I was pleased to see we finally started with a real female driver in the game: If you look closely in the scouting you can find Sophia Forsch having her first F3 season.
So my plan is:
YR 1: Start McLaren getting better
YR2: Sign Forsch as reserve and push her training
YR3/4: Make her Car 2
YR5: Title push (hopefully)
@garius I found that mod but now I'm three seasons in and it needs a restart 😭
It's a good plan, will have to tune in to see how it goes, although iirc in 22 they develop faster in F3/F2 than in your team, even with every FP1 runs, but the risk is someone else picking her up.
@thecrawford yeah, the temptation may be to leave her in F3 for another year - and may have to anyway if this counts as only her first season.
In terms of streams: This campaign will be my monday evening (UK time) stream, with that going up on youtube on fridays. Then youtube exclusive updates between streams as and when.
@garius oh that rain graph is total nonsense, I'm playing as Williams and lost our first podium going onto wets because the rain line shot right up, and then it only went to 3.99mm and we ended up out of the points!
@thecrawford so you can kinda work it out (as i do on stream) by waiting for the damp to get to a level (let's say 0.25mm) during the race and then quickly looking at it to guestimate. But it's pretty ridiculous.
As I think i said on stream: If i'm paying multiple millions for a fucking weather centre, i'm gonna employ people who know what a fucking y-axis label is. 😆
@thecrawford indeed i've told viewers that being screwed by the rain graph or Norris catastrophically are our only two 'justified reload' scenarios this season.
Just because i'm having to min/max around Norris in S1 much more than i'd like to give the run a solid start and keep it fun.
@garius oh that makes sense, perhaps I should have done the same. Min/maxing one driver worked well for me, especially because Doohan crashed at least once per race.
Have they reduced the reliance on micromanaging push/normal to get any overtakes?
@garius so gone are the days of doing intensive R&D with emergency instant manufacturing for both cars because even as Williams I had money spare, that's good!
