@Edent I wonder how “a voip number” compares to “a SIM that has a phone number attached” for things like this - it feels like there less need for an account recovery process that can handle someone losing their phone at least.
@tom I'm not aware of VoIP numbers which can receive SMS. But, either way, the person renting you the VoIP / SIP / Whatever can redirect it at their whim.
