Buc-ee's joins with luxury auto brand on electric vehicle charging stations

From the article:

Buc-ee's, which expects to begin construction on its first travel center in Wisconsin in 2024, is adding new electric vehicle charging stations to its offerings.

Mercedes-Benz HPC North America LLC has already begun installing the premium EV charging hubs at several Buc-ee's travel centers and plans to have 31 completed by the end of 2024, the companies said. The hubs in some key markets are expected to open by the end of this year.

Buc-ee's declined to disclose the specific locations at this time. Most Buc-ee's locations will feature the charging hubs eventually, the companies said.

“Mercedes-Benz HPC North America's collaboration with Buc-ee's represents an important moment in our pursuit of a national charging network that sets a new standard in both convenience and quality,” Andrew Cornelia, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz HPC NA, said in a statement.

Buc-ee’s in April 2023 bought a 23-acre site in DeForest, near Madison, where it's planning one of its massive travel centers. Work on the about 75,000-square-foot store with 120 gas pumps at Highway V and Interstate 39/90/94 is anticipated to start in 2024. An application with the village of DeForest pegs an initial estimate for opening sometime in the first quarter of 2025.
