Am I missing anything? Aside from VRChat I guess, but I really don't want to spend huge amounts of money just in the vague hope that I'll find a group on there. I don't want to do voice calls with strangers.
I genuinely don't know what else I could try aside from just hoping someone shows up who invites me into a group.
I think people misinterpret my difficulty with finding a group for difficulty with getting a preexisting group to start something. Those are very different problems, and one is a prerequisite of the other.
@NovaSquirrel my stance with VRC is that desktop mode and a public avatar from furhub are fine for determining if you like it; any hardware and avatar purchases are for a later time.
With that said, our good experiences on there are from friends who invited us to their discords rather than random people - and even among friends that like RPs, it also tends towards just general chat, aside from sometimes everyone impromptu switching to a particular avatar and being that for a bit
@Dex Do you think that people you encounter in public spaces would be willing to ignore whatever your avatar is and treat you as something else? I kind of assumed it would be annoying to try and explain that if you used a public avatar.
I haven't really had luck with getting invited to stuff myself so I'd probably have to dig through whatever public stuff I can find.
