question:

In the we had a toy for making that actually had a potter’s wheel. The commercial for it had a song that went something like this:

🎶 “you take a ball of clay / you pinch it with your fingers / you put it on the wheel / and make the wheel go round!” 🎶

This is all I can remember. YouTube and Internet searches haven’t helped.

Can any of you wonderful people tell me what the name of this toy was?

This might be it too . . . the commercial (as I remember it anyhow) was far more manic and directed at kids.
