@ianRobinson i know... it's a couple hundred feet wide? i guess i meant relative to the scale of turbulence. not much chance for a calm cooling surface. i don't have a good sense of how fast red hot lava can turn to relatively dark rock. i'm guessing no, what looks like dark rock to me might be pretty hot and gooey magma still!

@ianRobinson weird, when i click that youtube link it only gives me time in - numbers, hrs minutes before present not positive hours minutes AFTER a starting point. anyway i fished aournd and found lava starting to steady spill over at about 4hrs ago.

@saarmuller It'll be interesting to hear what the professionals say. It certainly looks more active, and there was fresh uplift from magma flowing into the underground chamber again yesterday.
