A friend of mine suggested I post online about a thing that I need help with financially and I've found myself extremely uncomfortable with the idea. I'm having trouble examining where that reticence comes from though. I can't tell if this is some ingrained toxic-masculinity around independence, a sense of failure because I gave up on a good tech career, or some internalized capitalist principal that asking for help is somehow bad similar to the stigma around panhandling. #mutualaid
