Users in this case would be other devs using the gender library. They should have enough technical knowledge to handle it.
You could also include common gender implementations in the library. Then we could start getting enterprise^tm^ and include a GenderClassFactory that constructs Gender classes.
The faith driven always want to use the LGBT+ community to fearmonger, as if we're a dangerous menace. The faithful will stop at nothing to smear anything they deem inappropriate without question, it's truly worrisome as many will not even dare to question this faith-based attack. This dangerous rhetoric needs to be quashed; but that will be difficult in a Christian state like Alabama, they've got a strong chance of winning. It terrifies me.
This annexation has nothing to do with the LGBTQ community at all but this "faith" base group are using us to scare people into voting against the annexation. Disgusting people who want to force their beliefs on everyone else.
Worst bit is, they've gotten to that spot in their devolving where the community at large telling them this is wrong makes them think they must be right. Us-vs-them taken to wild extremes.
Despite only a few examples of this sort of inanity, they also still believe themselves to be in an overwhelming majority. Bubble life.
I try to be an empathetic person but it’s hard to imagine being so stuck in that kind of bubble. I know people are more apt to fall into it than they realize (myself included)… but still.
The Internet is very, very good at connecting people with similar life experiences across vast distances and giving them a sense of community.
This is great if you’re a kid in a small town who’s never seen another queer person and just wants to feel normal.
This is not great when it’s connecting the paranoid and the hateful and those with victim complexes, as bred into them by (usually) evangelical upbringings. One might even call it bad.
Radicalization is a result of the economic crisis… Instead of blaming each other and pointing fingers, we should keep the doors of dialog open. Often behind extremists there are wounded children who learned that they were only listened to if they screamed. And let us not get upset because that is exactly what they want.
I work inside Target stores in a red county in CA. It’s been so empty. I never thought the boycotts would make much of an impact, but it has. If a pride display bothers you, I don’t want you shopping in my stores. But as a sales person, I rely on foot traffic for my income, and I’m having trouble making ends meet.
Not entirely accurate. She'd probably say "a boy who thinks he's a girl"
It's actually kind of cute that the artist didn't go full conservative when depicting conservatives, probably an instinctive desire to not make a cartoon horribly offensive to their audience, even if that's what they think of their subjects.
