A baker rejected a synagogue's order for rainbow Pride treats. The firestorm has been fierce. - Jewish Telegraphic Agency https://www.jta.org/2023/07/06/united-states/a-kosher-baker-rejected-a-synagogues-order-for-rainbow-pride-treats-the-firestorm-has-been-fierce

GordonIsenburg,

@JRBuckley When the verdict of the Colorado baker was in the news, I had a conversation with my brother.

"Why would you want prepared food from a place that doesn't want to make it, how could you trust to eat it?" He said.

"It's the principal. Would it be okay for the baker to post a sign saying, "No Coloreds Allowed'?" I replied.

"Being black isn't a choice, being gay is." His wife added.

I said, "Let's remove that from the equation. Would it be okay to post a sign 'No Jews Served here'?"

    @hankg @JRBuckley

    That is essentially what the SCOTUS has done with the verdict in 21-476 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, chipping away at laws protecting people from "religious-based" discrimination.

    This sends a signal that will be interpreted as a green light to anyone wanting to use it as an excuse. The bulk of the ramifications will never be seen, as such crimes pass unnoticed/unknown or unprovable by the victims.
