Are magazines visible to the Fediverse by default?

I can't find a magazine I moderate on kbin when I try to use the search on lemmy.world to pull it into that instance. Is there a setting for federation of kbin mags or is it on by default?

I've followed guides on lemmy to try to pull it in.

I think there are some problems with federating to some lemmy instances. Try searching it on vlemmy.net with the url of your magazine. Mine can appear in the searches there but not on lemmy.world or lemmy.ml for example.
