On a separate note, I think I’m going to have to use archive.org to link to news articles in my posts now. It seems links have a very short working half life these days.
I’ve heard stories of news sites pulling their older stories in order to use AI generated articles to game the search engines, as the older articles reduce their SEO rankings.
I’m sure for researchers who need permanency in the internet sources they cite this is a nightmare.
