Worked on the song for the client for 3 hours this afternoon. It's a company that produces Internet video ads. My contact there is an acquaintance of mine. A guy who does video graphics. If you're in Norway, you've probably seen his work in ads and on billboards.

He took a chance on me and brought me in without asking. He said I'm helping him prove that a really good soundtrack can be commissioned from a freelancer in a very short time - something his colleagues said would be impossible.

@thor I don’t have a ton of experience with ad work, but the few gigs I’ve had taught me the importance of keeping your tracks flexible. Lean on soft synths as much as you can get away with! After the first round they will ask for changes and they may wanna hear those changes within 24 hours. Don’t be surprised if they ask you to change the tempo!

@fadersolo I'm lucky that my contact has time for fairly frequent reviews and knows to get specific about the changes he wants. But he has yet to show it to the rest of the team. Plan is to do a session every afternoon until he's happy and then we'll take it from there. He says I'm not far off. He's joking that he's getting demanding now because it's so close. The genre is electronic and I lean heavily on soft synths for that. I've got the video and it has a reference soundtrack on it. They can't use it for legal reasons, but I think he's happier about what I've made already.
