Ok all this drama aside, super excite for by my #fairphone 5 shipping notification listing expected arrival as Monday - so I'll be able to pick it up Tuesday :)
That gives me this weekend to rig a #NextCloud#NixOS install so I can dump all my #iCloud photos to it. Excite :)
Thankfully I didn’t have to take the battle with UPS. Fairphone did that in stead and express-delivered a replacement unit - plus a refund of all shipping costs.
@AngryAnt UPS are the best. I once had two parcels arriving via UPS, but got a message saying failed delivery. Phoned, and found out that they couldn’t find the house.
They promised redeliver on Monday (it was Friday); I was going to be away, so I changed to the following Friday. Phoned later for some reason, they hadn’t actually changed it.. I changed it again.
Got a call from a neighbour on Monday, UPS delivered one of the parcels, quite expensive item, and left it on the doorstep.
@MouseByTheSea I wish ;) This is just setting up the base for my Next Cloud install.
That said, the plan is to move to a Robotnix-based setup for the phone once Graphene (preferably) or Lineage have support for the new model. This first phase is mostly me messing around on the base android install, figuring it out outside of just developing for it.
@AngryAnt After dropping my prized 1st gen SE in a lake. (It's fine for now) I seriously considered a Fairphone, but it doesn't work with my family plan. :( I think I would have gotten one, but opted for the iPhone 13 Mini instead. I think I bought one of the very last ones as they were sold out the next day... >_> At least that should also last many years too.
Had me worried for a second - haven’t come across a phone which didn’t cover all our bands here. It’s a small country, so I guess that makes it easy to include everything. Verified that this phone does so as well.
