codewyrm,

I struggle back and forth about whether I want to continue using and 'magical' models for the phenomena I experience and discuss.

One of the warning signs that keeps flashing at me is that all the occultists I have met and interacted with are mentally ill and getting worse. For some reason, at this time this year, many of them are starting to spiral.

At The Crossroads: A Personal Journey Beyond Occult Paradigms

richardgrant,

@codewyrm Insightful and thought-provoking blog post! I guess my stance toward the paranormal is that it is a crack in reality, or at least in consensus reality, that tells us something about the true nature of the universe. Jeffrey Kripal has a line about the being the sacred in transit to the scientific (though I haven't got that quite right). I personally don't find that the and magical traditions (which I respect in themselves) are much help in understanding these things.
