The Nyko Air Flow brings new meaning to the term "Xbox fanboy"

YouTube member Svenny McG introduces the world to the Nyko Air Flow controller for the original Xbox. This amusingly over-engineered joypad has a massive fan built into the unit, which draws in air from the bottom and redistributes it through vents built into the handles. What this means for you, the player, is less sweaty hands, and less of that grungy brown crud that tends to build up in the seams of other controllers. (Does this stuff have a name? It's gross.)

Personally, I've got the wireless version of this controller, with the fan set in the front of the controller where the memory card ports would normally be. Those ports are moved to a dongle which uses a 2.4G wireless signal to connect to the Nyko Air Flow. It's completely ridiculous and annoyingly heavy with four AA batteries installed, but in its defense, the 2.4G signal of the Nyko Air Flow is a lot more reliable than the infrared used in other wireless joypads of its era.

By the way, what's the proper name for the first system in the Xbox line? It clearly can't be the Xbox One... that name was taken by the third Xbox. Is it the classic Xbox? The original Xbox? What the heck do you call this thing in 2023?
