For the current moment, rent has not been paid. I get a monthly sum from the government. I had some help from the municipality of #Oslo for last month's rent. But it took them an entire month to process that application.
In the meanwhile, I've just been using the deposits I got to live a decent but all-in-all modest life. A bit heavy on alcohol? Yes. But also, I have not been making any luxury purchases. I live in Oslo and just about everyone here will have a latte.
And I'm not super interested in moving outside of the Ring 2 motorway, seeing as most of the people I recognise as my own kind stays within that zone. But I could potentially halve my rent if I moved outside of it.
Yet, none of my friends tell me to do that. Not that I could pull that off anyway. I do not have a security deposit ("depositum") available for that. Nor do I know anyone who wants to share apartments with me. A lot of people in Oslo are really spoiled. #norsktut
